iCOSHELLs is a Soil Mission project funded by the EU. The project aims to establish 6 Soil Health Living Labs (SHELLs) spanning various climatic zones - namely Sweden, Spain, Spain-France, Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria. The project initiative, aligning with various EU policies, emphasizes the importance of comprehensive soil restoration efforts.
The main objective of the open call in iCOSHELLs is to engage and include new stakeholders in the Living Labs (LLs), to add extra experimental sites, and to include new innovations and solutions to be tested by the LL. Its systematic approach includes building stakeholder capacities, bridging gaps between science and practical applications, deepening understanding of soil indicators, replicating effective soil recovery methods, and championing supportive soil health policies.
The project is coordinated by RISE RESEARCH INSTITUTES, has a duration of 48 months and consists of a consortium of 37 partners.
NANG participates in Greek living lab, called Greek Mine Soil Health Living Lab (GMN SHELL) and contributes to the dissemination of the project results to its ecosystem in the agrifood sector.
