As part of our initiatives to create employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people and support the agri-food sector in Greece, we are working with ReGeneration to implement the ReGeneration Academy for Food Innovation - Powered by New Agriculture for a New Generation. It is a specialized training program for young people who wish to stay in Greece and claim a position in the food and beverage industry.
WHAT IS IT?
It is an intensive training program on food technology, co-designed by ReGeneration and the “New Agriculture for a New Generation” program, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The program is designed in collaboration with acclaimed food industry executives and scientists coming from Greek universities and Rutgers University, USA. Its duration is 75 hours, and it runs simultaneously in Athens and Thessaloniki for a four week period and also includes a three-day experiential training workshop to be held in Vamvakou Laconia.
This three-day training workshop, that will take place in Vamvakou, is being implemented in collaboration with the Vamvakou Revival team, which is carrying out the Vamvakou Revival Initiative with the financial and moral support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The program will provide participants with the necessary skills and tools to meet the growing demand for skilled scientists with specialized knowledge in the food and beverage industry. This sector represents almost 30% of all manufacturing companies in Greece and is highly export-oriented.
During the program, participants will focus on topics such as: global food system and trends, food quality and safety management, new product development, supply chain management, national and European food and marketing legislation.
In addition, participants will receive training on soft skills focusing on topics such as leadership, creative collaboration and teamwork, crisis management, decision making etc.
The food and beverage industry has proved particularly resilient to the economic crisis and is one of the largest employers in our country.
More specifically, as highlighted by a recent research carried out by SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises), nine (9) occupations have been identified as critical for the food sector (Food Safety & Quality Management Officer, Food Marketing Manager, Food Company Scientific Advisor, R&D Researcher, Quality Control executive, Food Specialist, Law & Communications Officer, Raw Materials Supply Manager, Infrastructure & Maintenance Engineer) that require up-to-date knowledge, skills and competencies and will be in strong demand as evidenced by the future quality needs of businesses.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Graduates of Greek or foreign higher education (University / Technological Educational Institution/ College), of the following academic directions:
Geotechnical Schools and in particular
and other food industry related graduates
(i.e. MBA in Food Business)
Up to 29 years old, as the program is targeting graduates at the beginning of their careers.
Zero or limited work experience (up to 3 years)
Active participation in extracurricular activities (i.e. volunteering, entrepreneurship, sports, art and any other non-academic activities).
Interested graduates can submit their applications by 10 February (until 14:00).

APPLICATION ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE
Successful evaluation of the applications on the first stage of selection, leads the participants to the Live Assesment Center, which will take place in Athens and Thessaloniki and involves interviewing of the candidates from food industry executives.
